2 days left to the end of Queenswood Summer School. I am really looking forward going back to my home, but that doesn't mean that I will not miss the school. I really enjoyed the campus and all the things we did here. I came to queenswood to study english and I am sure I improved my english enourmously. This is my 4th week in the school. I made many friendships in england which I will keep even when I go back home. I enjoyed all the excursions and I took many many photos. I will never forgot the school and the people I met there.

Last days in Queenswood

2 days left to the end of Queenswood Summer School. I am really looking forward going back to my home, but that doesn't mean that I will not miss the school. Life in 16th century

Life in the 16th century wasn't very good. Actually it was awful. Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor.
Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it.
Life wouldn't be nice as nowadays. The only entertainment would be to play with the cocks in the garden or to have a shower with the pigs. We would have to get up in 5 o'clock in the morning and to work whole day to go to bed at 10. It would be very boring so I don't want to live in the 16th century.

Museum of Modern Art

On Wednesday this week the juniors of Lines Queenswood went to the Museum of Modern art. Our task there was to make presentation of 5 things that we like/don't like in the museum.
Some of the things I liked there were:
"Table and four chairs" is the title of this "modern" art. It is made in 2003 by Robert Therrien who was born in 1947.
It makes you think about how everything looks when you are small.
This one is called Shibboleth and I like it because I like this kind of realistic paintings made on the ground.

The Future

The future of our planet.. we have no idea how lucky we are that we are still alive.. on our planet. The earth is have faced deadly things for millions of years. Meteoroids, asteroids, black holes, exploding stars - these are the most known universe monsters to the human being. Every 30 million years there is cataclysm on the planet earth - 65 million years ago the dinosaurs disappeared. 30 million years ago our planet could challenge the same cataclysm like 65 million years ago but the humans were lucky because the strong gravity of Jupiter pulled the asteroids aiming the Earth. Our little planet could easily fit in a hole made by those asteroids on Jupiter.
Asteroids and meteoroids are not the only danger. The monster of the universe - black holes is the worst thing that could happen to our planet. If a black hole comes even near our sun system we are finished by its strong gravity.
If we are lucky to escape from that deadly things there is something else threatens our planet - our sun. After 50 million years our sun's energy will be about to finish and our sun will turn into a red giant eating Mercury, Venus and our planet Earth.

Spiderman

Hello there,
today I'll be writing about one of the famous comic and film stars "Spider-man". He is a superhero who experiences difficulties with friends, family, sweethearts and employers. His powers enable him to do good, but not to improve his own lot in life, and it is his simple humanity, rather than his exotic talent, that has won him millions of enthusiastic fans. He is one super-hero who has not lost the common touch, and in fact he is described as "your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." After this short summary I am posting the history of the superhero which I gathered from Wikipedia.
Spider-Man is a fictional Marvel Comics superhero. The character first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), and was created by scripter-editor Stan Lee and artist-plotter Steve Ditko. Lee and Ditko conceived of the character as an orphan being raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben as an ordinary teenager, having to deal with the normal struggles of youth in addition to those of a costumed crime fighter. Spider-Man's creators gave him the ability to cling to walls, shoot spider-webs using an invention he had created, and react to danger quickly with his "spider-sense," enabling him to combat his many foes, including Doctor Octopus, the Sandman, the Lizard, the Green Goblin and Venom and many others.

Windsor Castle

Yesterday we went to Windsor castle, where the queen stays. It wasn't fun, but it was very interesting and I think we all enjoyed it. The feeling to be in the castle is very good because I think it's ancient history. It's very impressive - it was built on a hill because it has to be hard to be reached or captured - it has to protect the royal family. As every time I took many photos of the castle and the town of Windsor. Most of them are good and I will soon post all the photos I did in England at this blog.

Thorpe Park

Yesterday some pupil from queenswood went to Thorpe Park. I guess it was fun and I think it deserves to be posted here in my blog.
Here's some short history:
Thorpe Park is a theme
park located in Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom. It was built in 1979 on the site of a gravel pit which was partially flooded with the intention of creating a water based theme for the park. The park's first large roller coaster, Colossus, was added in 2002. In 2007, Tussauds was bought out by Merlin Entertainments, who now operate the park on a lease from Nick Leslau.
In 2007, the park had 1.7 million visitors, making it the third most visited amusement/theme park in the United Kingdom, after Alton Towers and Pleasure Beach; and 13th most visited in Europe.
